- 5,9km: (468m.a.s.l.) turn right off the bike path onto Rue Saint Vincent;
- 6,6km: Pierrefitte Nestalas (489m.a.s.l.): grocery stores and restaurants;
- 17km: (657m.a.s.l.) turn right onto D12 (direction: Sassis);
- 19km: (705m.a.s.l.) continue straight on D912, bypassing Luz Saint Sauveur;
- 20,4km: (752m.a.s.l.) cross the bridge (Pont Napoléon) and turn right (direction: Gedre, Gavarnie);
- 29,4km: on a road with a 2-3% slope, reach Gedre (1000m.a.s.l.) - before the hardest part of the climb, it's worth stopping to refill water and have a coffee at one of the several cafes; there is a public toilet on the left side near a large parking lot;
