By regional train, we reach Carruba station and start following the map;
- 3,6km: (187m) turn left onto SP4i road - signpost: Santa Venerina;
- 7,9km: Santa Venerina (377m) turn right onto SP148 road - signpost: Zafferana;
- 10,4km: Zafferana (560m) turn right onto SP-8ii road - signpost: Etna Sud;
- 10,9km: Zafferana (579m) food outlets and grocery store; drinking water sources marked on mapy.cz;
turn left onto Via Eusebio Longo - signpost: Catania;
- 11km: (591m) turn right onto SP92 road - signpost: Etna Sud R.Sapienza; the ascent begins;
- 29,1km: Etna / Rifugio Sapienza (1904m) destination reached; a good place for coffee - food outlets;

- 30,7km: (1819m) turn right - signpost: Catania;
- 40,4km: (1099m) turn left - poorly visible signpost from this side: Pedara;
- 46km: Pedara (685m) there is a drinking water source on the parking lot on the right side of the road;
- 52,3km: Tremestrieri Etneo (404m) food outlets; we continue towards Sant'Agata li Battiati and further towards Catania to the train station following the gpx track or to the accommodation;
